The Arnhold Institute seeks to reduce health inequities via innovative research and products. We are seeking a front-end engineer to build intuitive interfaces for our product portfolio, including our global health product, ATLAS. The front-end engineer will be the lead for translating prototypes from our design team into an elegant and usable product. The front-end engineer must have industry experience and have meticulous attention to detail to deliver the best experience possible for our users.

Responsibilities

  • Implement usable, responsive, and snappy front-ends for our products.
  • Work with the head of design, the product manager, and back-end engineer to build a seamless experience.
  • Develop reusable modules, components, and build tools for both internal and external use cases.
  • Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface.
  • Promote usability best practices.
  • Stay up-to- date on emerging technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance (or equivalent professional experience) – graduate degree is a plus
  • 3+ years of front-end development experience - desktop and mobile application experience preferred
  • A strong ability to prioritize features and balance feature development with time constraints
  • Deep interest in creating products that democratize data science
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, verbal, written and presentation communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders
